The entire team at Gigit couldn’t be more excited to share our latest update with you! This week, we launched Gigit 3.0.0, and now our platform is faster and easier to use than ever before; for both the organizations and the individuals who are seeking to make a difference in their communities.
Thanks to some helpful feedback from our users, we were able to improve user flows, introduce a brand new start page, improve our online auction feature, as well as provide new ways to fundraise, and personalize pages. We even gave users the capability to display their track record of community-improvement work, right on their profile for all to see.

Our newly redesigned start page makes it easier for anyone to quickly get started on Gigit. Our start page now features improved onboarding flows, which will take you through our easy-to-use wizards to get set up on our platform, and then to achieve your desired tasks.
You can simply select which task you’d like to accomplish from our menu. In minutes, you can start accepting donations, build an event or fundraiser, post volunteer or paid gigs, create an online store or create an auction, all from one page.
Now, you can move forward with confidence knowing that every one of Gigit’s functions is available as soon as you enter our website.
Peer-to-peer fundraising has become one of the best ways you can go about raising money for your cause online. No organization should be tasked with doing all of their fundraising themselves. Now, Gigit makes it easy to form a team of fine folks who will fundraise on your organization’s behalf. Plus, you’ll be empowering community members to make a difference, and spread awareness among their social circles.
All you need to do is to go to the Manage - Settings screen for your Group and turn on the feature. When users click Run an Event or Fundraiser from the start page, they will now be able to select your Group as the beneficiary of the event. Before you know it, you’ll have dollars rolling in from community members for the benefit of your cause.
Our Virtual Auctions tool is one of the best loved features on Gigit. This year, Covid-19 has put a lengthy pause on physical gatherings, so being able to quickly and seamlessly convert traditionally in-person events to online has made pandemic protocol easier to work around for both the organizations that host auctions, and the users that place bids and donate.
From the organization’s perspective, it’s now easier to contact auction winners. You can now see more of individual bidders’ contact information on the Leaderboard after your auction has wrapped up.
Users now have access to a Mobile Details Screen, which allows them to see more information about auction items, including images and item descriptions, before making a bid. We’ve now made auction items more enticing – so organizations can garner more bids on each item.
Your name is more than just a name; it’s how you make yourself, your organization and your mission stand out. Gigit now enables you to edit the handles/URLs on your profile page, event pages and group pages so you can be even more eye-catching than you already are.
It’s easy – just go to the Manage button on the page you’d like to change the URL for. Then, you can give your page whatever name you’d like.
Volunteers, donors, and fundraisers deserve some praise for the good work they do for their communities. Thanks to the pandemic, it’s been a long time since anyone had a good high-five for a job well done. We want to offer exactly that feeling, although digitally, to each and every user on Gigit when they do something awesome for their community.
With our new Stats feature, users can wear their accomplishments like a badge of honour – right on their Gigit profile page. Users have the option to hide or show metrics such as volunteer hours completed, number of donations made and more. Of course, the more stats appear on your page, the better! It’s a great way to show which causes interest you, the skills you have in your arsenal, and make yourself even more appealing to those who may be looking for someone just like you.
